Supporting roles, discarded proposals, artsy-fartsy stuff, and things I'm curious about.
I created Lighthouses of the Hudson River after an overnight stay at Saugerties Lighthouse, a historic landmark that also operates as a Bed & Breakfast. Curious to learn more about the Hudson's maritime history, I set out to track down other lighthouses along the river. The data was gathered with help from the National Park Service Marine Heritage program and the U.S. Coast Guard archives. The project culminated in a limited edition of 500 hand-numbered, poster-sized letterpress prints that quickly sold out.
The Grand By Gehry, a Related Companies luxury rental located in Los Angeles, California. The challenge: draw a Gehry-like doodle for the logo and get the approval of Frank Gehry himself. Long before AI was a thing, it took hundreds of scribbles until we landed on a winner.
Best of Luck! 2-color serigraph, 2011. A sampling of the responses I received while looking for work right after moving to New York. 2008 was a hell of a year.
A selection of logos that were proposed but didn't make the cut. Each was presented as part of a comprehensive branding package, including applications, color palettes, messaging, and art direction.
